Front Desk Volunteer - Afternoon

The Front Desk Volunteer is one of the most essential positions at Community Storehouse. As the first point of contact for clients, donors, community members and fellow volunteers, you’ll play a vital role in creating a welcoming and supportive environment.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys helping others, thrives in a team setting, and wants to be part of an organization that truly makes a difference.

You will receive full training and ongoing support from other experienced volunteers and/or the Front Desk Manager as you grow into your role.

Responsibilities Include:

·         Welcoming clients, donors, and visitors with warmth and professionalism

·         Assisting clients in placing food orders through our database and accessing additional services

·         Answering phone calls and either providing information or redirecting to the appropriate team member

·         Managing Clothing Closet requests

·         Using a cloud-based client database system (training provided)

·         Performing light office tasks such as filing, scanning, and making copies

·         Retrieving donated items as needed to meet client requests

·         Providing compassionate support while upholding our policies and procedures

·         Ensuring accuracy and attention to detail in all assigned tasks

Ideal Volunteer:

·         Has a heart for service and a desire to help others

·         Can commit to at least two shifts per month on a regular basis

·         Is friendly, dependable, and willing to learn

·         Is comfortable using or learning basic computer programs and databases

·         Enjoys working as part of a team

·         Can maintain professional boundaries and communicate with empathy

Our current Front Desk volunteers describe this role as both fulfilling and fun. You’ll build connections with clients who become familiar faces, and you’ll experience the joy of making a meaningful impact each time you serve.

Please Note:
This opportunity is designed for individuals who are looking to be trained and committed to regular service. Due to the time and resources required to equip volunteers for this vital role, we kindly ask for a minimum commitment of two shifts per month. Volunteers must be 18 years or older and no longer in high school.
