The Clothing Closet is a vital resource that provides essential clothing to children and, in specific cases, to adults who are facing emergency needs such as job interviews, re-entry into the community, or homelessness.
Who We Serve
-
Children (ages 0–18): Up to 8 garments per child per request, every three months
-
Adults: Emergency-only requests, based on situational need
Clothing requests are submitted during a client’s Food Visit and are fulfilled by our dedicated volunteers in the Clothing Closet.
Volunteer Responsibilities
Volunteers are essential to the Clothing Closet’s operation. During any shift, you may be asked to help with:
-
Pulling clothing to fill family requests
-
Locating specific clothing sizes in the sorting area
-
Replenishing clothing baskets based on size and inventory need
-
Organizing and maintaining the Clothing Closet space
-
Sorting and processing donated clothing or unclaimed orders
-
Contacting clients for clarification on forms or to notify them of ready orders
-
Other general support tasks as needed
What to Wear
Please dress for the weather and task:
-
Comfortable, casual attire (e.g., shorts, t-shirts are acceptable)
-
Closed-toe shoes are required
-
Be prepared to be on your feet for part or all of your shift
Important Notes
-
If you sign up for a shift, please honor your commitment. If your availability changes, kindly remove yourself from the schedule as early as possible so another volunteer can fill that shift.
-
Volunteers ages 13–14 must be accompanied by an approved adult volunteer during the same shift.
Your time and dedication make a real difference! Thank you for helping us serve our community with dignity and care.
