Nutrition Center
The Nutrition Center is a resource available to our families which provides weekly groceries or emergency food boxes, depending on their needs.
Hunger prevention is vital to proper growth and development of children. Food insecurity affects 20% of the children in Keller ISD and 25% in Northwest ISD, whose families are living below the poverty line. Many students, who rely on school breakfast and lunch during the week, arrive to class Monday morning hungry.
Along with summer and holiday boxes, snack packs and weekly groceries, the Community Storehouse believes when children are fed, they succeed in the classroom.
Our Nutrition Center is open to all qualified participants, ensuring families receive fresh and shelf stable foods weekly to feed their families.
In partnership with local schools, the Storehouse sends home “snack packs” filled with child-friendly, healthy snacks each Friday to aid in the prevention of hunger when they are not in school.
The Nutrition Center also can provide household cleaning products, diapers, hygiene packets, snack bags for students and food for cats and dogs, to strengthen wellness at home.
